The Garmin eTrex 10 GPS uses GPS and GLONASS satellites for faster signal acquisition, so it gets a solution in its position approximately 20 times faster than GPS alone. The receiver can also interpret the signals of the Wide Area Increase System (WAAS) so that it can receive information from the ground antennas even when their view of the sky is obstructed. The WAAS system also provides greater overall position accuracy. In addition to GPS technologies, this device also has HotFix satellite prediction that uses an algorithm to imitate the movement of the Earth.
